Awareness Through Movement Classes and
Workshops In Awareness through Movement classes, students are actively learning about the habitual muscle tensions that may lead to restrictions, poor posture or injury. There are hundreds of lessons, each of which is carefully structured to release unwanted movement and postural habits, and teach more fluid, effortless and coordinated movement. Developing awareness of our movement is the key to modifying it, hence the name of the classes. "Hand-y" lessons for easing neck and shoulder tension
We use our hands all day, every day for the many activities involved in just living. More and more those demands involve very fine and repetitive activities - using our phones and computers for hours on end as well as all of the less technology based activities like cooking, dressing, drinking the morning coffee.... sport, hobbies, artistic pursuits. Our hands are BUSY and the tension involved in being "ready for action" has a big effect on our arms, shoulders and neck. This series of four lessons will explore the complexity and the delicacy of our hands. A soft and relaxed hand may enhance your general sense of comfort and well being. Thursdays 11am and 6:30pm 16 April - 7 May Saturdays 10am 18 April - 9 May Classes will be both on ZOOM and in the STUDIO. STUDIO CLASSES are limited to 8 places. Online booking essential.
