Ann is a skilled Feldenkrais teacher and a physiotherapist with many years of experience. She has a longstanding interest in human movement and involvement in dance and theatre arts. She established the Feldenkrais Studio with Sophie in 2000 following the completion of the Feldenkrais Professional Training Program. As well as teaching weekly Awareness Through Movement classes and seeing individual clients at the studio, Ann maintains her well-established work in the Community Health sector where she currently sees predominantly babies, young children and their families. At the Feldenkrais Studio she sees people of all ages including children, those in chronic pain, with neurological disorders, recovering from injury or who simply want to enhance their movement skills.
Sophie Fraser (B. Physiotherapy, Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner)
Sophie received her physiotherapy degree in 1996 and Feldenkrais teacher certification in 2000. Since then she had diverse experience teaching Feldenkrais in Melbourne and regional Victoria. She is a founding practitioner of the Feldenkrais Studio, and has extensively taught in pain rehabilitation programs. She has helped countless people in chronic pain, whom had previously plateaued in their recovery, to recover lost movement abilities. She has welcomed science’s neuroplasticity revolution, which supports the Feldenkrais approach to movement re-education. She runs specialist workshops for physiotherapists and occupational therapists working in the field of chronic pain, relating current pain and neuroplasticity research to therapeutic practice. An innovative and inspiring teacher, Sophie has also developed specialist workshops for pregnant women and done postgraduate studies in Women’s Health.
