Awareness Through Movement Classes and
Workshops In Awareness through Movement classes, students are actively learning about the habitual muscle tensions that may lead to restrictions, poor posture or injury. There are hundreds of lessons, each of which is carefully structured to release unwanted movement and postural habits, and teach more fluid, effortless and coordinated movement. Developing awareness of our movement is the key to modifying it, hence the name of the classes. Moving from your Centre
This series of 4 lessons will explore initiating movement from our torso. Lessons will "wake up" the parts of our spine that are often underused and distribute movements through the whole spine and into the pelvis. This allows the areas that are usually overworking - the neck and low back - to give up some of the effort as the ribs and thoracic spine join in to create more harmonious and integrated movement patterns. When we learn to use our pelvis and trunk in this more coordinated way, when we find this power from our centre, upright posture becomes easier and the movement of our limbs is more supported, more comfortable and more skillful. Thursdays *9:30 am,11am and 6:30pm 29 May - 19 June (*NEW CLASS TIME) Saturdays 10am 31 May - 21 June Classes will be both on ZOOM and in the STUDIO. STUDIO CLASSES are limited to 8 places.
