Awareness Through Movement Classes and
In Awareness through Movement classes, students are actively learning about the habitual muscle tensions that may lead to restrictions, poor posture or injury. There are hundreds of lessons, each of which is carefully structured to release unwanted movement and postural habits, and teach more fluid, effortless and coordinated movement. Developing awareness of our movement is the key to modifying it, hence the name of the classes.
Twists & Turns
Our start to 2022 is perhaps not what we had hoped for and our ability to adapt to this
ever-changing pandemic is a big challenge. We can utilize the method of self-awareness developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais in order to help us maintain resilience, and support creativity and adaptability.
As Feldenkrais himself said:
“Life is not a stable process. Our ability to recover is our greatest quality.”
This series will explore twisting, turning and maintaining balance. The various movement puzzles will foster curiosity and creativity – elements essential to learning
and enhancing the quality of our lives.
The term will be in 2 parts and, due to the current situation with the pandemic, will once again be conducted on ZOOM only.
(As the situation improves, small In Studio group classes will once again be available.)
